ContactFlow = Cover Flow Style Contacts App for iPhone [iPhone Apps]

ContactFlow iPhone app

ContactFlow is a new iPhone app that presents your contacts in a Cover Flow style view.  It ‘s a former jailbreak app from way back when that has now crossed over to the App Store.

Here ‘s a little more detail from its App Store description:

When you launch ContactFlow, you have access to all your contacts. Just tap on a contact to flip the picture and display associated numbers and e-mails. By selecting a number, ContactFlow will simply call your contact. The SMS icon automatically send you to the SMS application. By the same way, selecting an e-mail will send you where you can write a new e-mail.

Although it ‘s kind of fun to make use of the Cover Flow view, there are two obvious issues with this app for me.  Firstly, it ‘s not integrated into the built-in Contacts app, so you have to use it instead of the built-in app to get real mileage from it, which of course is quite challenging with the Contacts app being built into the Phone app.

My second issue may be more unique to me, but I just don ‘t have photos for very many of my contacts at all “ so when I use the app instead of seeing a row of lovely ladies (as in the app ‘s screencaps) I get mostly this sort of view:

I guess I could try adding a bunch of lovely lady pictures to each of my contacts randomly, but I reckon I ‘d get bored fairly quickly and my wife might not fully approve of that strategy either. :)

Anyway, if you do have a good collection of photos for most of your contacts and fancy a bit of Cover Flow goodness when viewing them, ContactFlow is available now in the App Store, and it ‘s a free app.

  1. You could sync the facebook images with your contact ones.

  2. neet app, but the app crashes quite often i noticed, both on my JB'd device and my girlfriends "virgin" device :)

    Ditto about the app crashing…

Also, how does one get better quality images for contacts? I loaded my Gmail contacts with full size photos, but the app shows it with terrible quality. A shame really…
