Airplane mode compatibility is definitely there for both services, although Simplenote's is still faster overall, since it's just plain text.

Important for those times you're out of cellular and WiFi range. Or, you know, on an airplane.

If you're doing it from Safari to iPhone, don't copy the picture — use "save image" from Safari instead and then add the image to Evernote from your camera roll (using camera roll button within Evernote)

Thanks. I was talking more about doing it from Safari iPhone to Evernote iPhone app on the road.

Thanks. Unfortunately lack the time to make this a public service for everyone. And I wouldn’t want to fiddle with passwords of others. If somebody wants to make a service from it, she could definitely take the code and go from there.

By the way, my favorite thing is that during the mirroring process, the notes are automatically converted from ASCII Markdown to HTML markup, but the usefulness of Markdown is another thing to talk about.

Evernote can definitely put images right into text notes. How about instead of trying to copy straight from your browser to Evernote, throw the pic onto your desktop first, and then drag it from there into Evernote.

definitely a good idea, although I lack both the skills and the server power to do that 😀 Guess I'll have to rely on actual memory and my little dash tags to help me navigate Simplenote

I can't seem to go to Google images for example, copy an image and paste it into a text note. All I get is the images file name. ie image.jpg Other than that I'm happy with it

I use Simplenote as my short-term memory and Evernote for long-term storage. My script(s) automatically mirror my Simplenotes to an Evernote notebook. The solution however requires you t run a server and you need some technical skills.

ditto for me right now ; I'm on a real keyboard shortcut binge (good god, did I really just say that in public?) and NV is pretty kickass for that

I've tried Evernote and really wanted to like it but the simplicity and elegance of the plain text duo is awesome for my needs.
