Classic Apogee title, Rise of the Triad, is being ported to iPhone [iPhone Apps]

Posted on 08 Feb 2010 by Thomas

For the duration of this news post I’ll be reverting to my eight year old self – you know, the one that sorta kinda remembers playing a demo of Rise of the Triad after it came out in 1994:

WOW! Rise of the Triad is suuuuuch a good shooting game! It looks like Doom but I think it is better because you can use a pistol gun and then pick up another pistol gun and then use that one two! Hahaha one two get it? I think the graphics are super good because I can move around all the bad guys with the left side of the screen an then shoot them (pew pew pew!) when I press the right side of the screen. I can’t believe how much fun this game is and I have been playing it all the time now before nap time and it’s the first thing I play after Saturday morning cartoons (if my dad is not using the computer).

The only sad part is that Rise of the Triad is not out yet but I have heard from people that it is coming soon. The other problem is that I don’t know how much it is going to cost, but I’m sure my dad will buy it for me.

(If this piece doesn’t read very differently than my normal pieces, that’s likely because I haven’t changed much since 1994…)

  1. LOLOL ! Nice review. Let my wife tell it, I haven't changed much either! I remember playing this game. I had it on my PC back then and beat it. Will be passing on this for the iphone. Right now my mind is looking more for innovation, not nostalgia.

Hahaha well I didn’t even play the whole game, but I do
remember being hella obsessed with the dual wielding concept
