WordPress updated to 2.2: edit and reply to comments right from your iPhone [iPhone App Updates]

Posted on 08 Feb 2010 by Thomas

Hrmm, this is interesting. I’m still a little skeptical about this great change from software that has routinely kicked my ass with its updates, but WordPress 2.2 might just be…awesome. The change log is deceptively small, with three bullet points about how comments can now be edited, replied to, and even auto-highlighted when they’re pending approval. However, if this really does work out, it could well be the best bloody WordPress app update ever. The app still can’t put pictures at the top of a post (have they ever looked at how blogs and websites seem to work?), but I no longer have to check the WordPress app and load up JAiB separately on my MacBook just to reply to comments. It’s also a huge help to see – at a glance – which comments are pending approval and which ones need to be smacked down Spam Button style.

You’re probably still going to want to do your mobile blogging in another iPhone app (I’d suggest BlogPress), but this free WordPress app is hopefully going to become my hub for convenient comment approving and replying, which means I should be able to answer questions a little faster now :)

  2. Thomas, between WordPress for iPhone and Blogpress, which one you prefer to use? Because I am thinking to develop a liveblog and update it using my iPhone.
