Apple Releases Aperature 3 Featuring Faces and Places Support

Apple has released Aperture 3, adding over 200 features to their already impressive professional photography application. This updates features Faces and Places tagging features similar to the ones introduced in iPhoto ’09. Aperture 3 also includes a new feature called Brushes for painting on image adjustments. There are also Adjustment Presets for quick style changes to the entire image.

“Millions of people love using iPhoto to organize, edit and share their digital photos,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “Aperture 3 is designed for both professionals who edit and manage massive libraries of photos and iPhoto users who want to take their photos further with easy-to-use tools such as Brushes and Adjustment Presets.”

Aperture 3 is 64-bit application on Intel Core 2 Duo Macs running OS X Snow Leopard. It is priced at $199, and upgrade pricing at $99. A 30-day trial is available.
