iPhone OS 3.1.3 Causing, Not Fixing, Battery Issues?

Amongst the quite small list of changes that Apple mentioned when the 3.1.3 iPhone OS update was released was: improvement in the accuracy of reported battery levels on the iPhone 3GS.

Ironically, just a week after that update ‘s release, there are reports that users are having some serious battery related issues after updating to 3.1.3

According to the details so far, the battery issues are suggesting that the iPhones are running hot, well hotter than normal and that the battery status indicator has been jumping around widely. That is not necessarily saying the battery life has gotten worse, just that it is not being accurately reported. But at the same time, there has also been some reports of users claiming that they are now seeing lost hours in terms of battery life.

I haven ‘t done the update to 3.1.3 as yet, because there ‘s no great new feature to make me tempted, and I am very fond of my current jailbreak setup and have no desire to mess with it for anything short of a major update from Apple.

Have any of you updated to 3.1.3 yet?  If so, have you seen any of these reported issues?

    First!

I agree, nothing new worthy of an upgrade or wrecking my current jailbreak setup.

IPod Touch 3G: I regret it mainly that I upgraded by mistake (and back to the jail), and no battery improvements.

Anyone can (blackrain please) windows jailbreak this (useless) version ?

I did it because I red that winterboard was the cause of slow speed in my iPhone, as soon as desinstalled it, my iPhone crashed. It didn't turn on, so I restored it with new firmware, and did the jailbreak.
So far, the speed of my iPhone is much better than it was. (I didn't install winterboard this time) but battery is the same, no notable difference.

I did update to 3.1.3 but honestly, not sure if battery life has improved…one thing I did note is the absence of dropped calls since the update and restored phone as “new” (HAD BEEN JAILBROKEN)…this may be due to ATT improvements on their network….hard to tell..i miss having the phone jailbroken as the multitasking features and several others , including the Aqwoa theme, were nice to have…on balance I seem to experience less crashes now that i have restored the phone…may have been some jailbreak apps that were creating problems…again, how does one tell…all in all I am satisfied with being restored and decided to use only the Edge network settings for phone calls and wifi for surfing…this alone has increased battery life…edge, location off, 3g off have made a big improvement…
