Square creates amazing video to showcase credit card payment via iPhone [iPhone Accessories]

I won’t say too much because this Square video already says it all: just sign up for a Square account online, find something to sell, take a buyer’s credit card, and then swipe it through the Square reader embedded in your iPhone’s 3.5mm headphone jack. Then you can signify the amount, have the buyer sign, and even send them an email receipt right then and there. They do talk about a bonus charity donation of a whopping $0.01 of every purchase, but that really doesn’t seem like all that much considering the cited example of a $300 couch.

It’s definitely interesting that the Square sits atop the iPhone, since that means you can use some sort of portable charger (like a Mophie Juice Pack – but maybe not the Air) to make sure you’ve got juice to charge your customers through a whole shift. The product isn’t out just yet, but the pilot program sign-up details are on the website.

  1. Any reccs on the other credit card apps? I am wondering if I should get one to increase my potential buyers when I sell junk on CraigsList. Any thoughts?

Everywhere I see this posted, says the sign up details are on their website, and I cannot find this anywhere. Can anyone see this?
