How do they not realize that a very large number of legit AppStore developers are in fact jailbroken as well? How do they not see that if they alienate the geek crowd that pushes the device to new limits, said geeks will move elsewhere. Apple, and its supporters, do not seem to understand that people WILL follow. The low percentage of jailbreak users is meaningless. That low percentage of users contains the developers that are writing their 'legit' apps. Developers are usually the type of person that wants to get the most out of their device. Yes, they will try to sell their apps to the largest audience possible if it can conform to Apples restrictions, but if they can't even use the device how they want to use it personally, they'll find another platform to develop on.

Microsoft bans users from XBOX live, if it detects a hacked XBOX. I can see Apple doing this at some point, if the software piracy increases. I used to Jailbreak, and had some many issues with lag, and battery life, it wasn’t worth it to me, so I went back.
