AppAdvice is reporting that iPad pre-orders could start as soon as February 25th. The pre-orders are said to be for the Wi-Fi model and U.S. customers only. Apple of course stated that the iPad would ship in 60 days(90 days for 3G model), when they announced the product late last month, that would place the launch for the Wi-Fi model somewhere near the end of March.
Apple did not offer pre-orders ahead of the original iPhone launch, but they did offer pre-orders for the iPhone 3GS launch this past summer. That makes this a difficult call. I can easily see Apple allowing pre-orders for the Wi-Fi model. The 3G model is a little more tricky to pin down. I’m guessing they will allow pre-orders for that model too considering the 3G service is opt-in and not required.
