I’m trying to get into the habit of taking two or three shots every time I see a scene or object I like so that I have more material for TrueHDR to work with. This set of shots was taken yesterday along on my walk home, and it really only took a couple of seconds to find an angle I liked and then take the over and underexposed shots. After that it was just a matter of loading up TrueHDR, combining the two pictures, and ending up with a much more colourful picture that came much closer to what I actually saw. What I really love is how much of the sky you can see in the HDR shot as opposed to either of the two “extreme” shots I started out with.
I’ve already reviewed the $1.99 app on JAiB, but the pictures in that piece didn’t really do the app justice, and I wanted to showcase what TrueHDR can do if you just feed it the right kind of photographs. If you want to do a little more with the shot, you can even throw it into TiltShiftGen to add some extra drama.
