I know at least some of you have been seeing problems / weirdness with how our site ‘s pages are loading over recent days. The ones I ‘ve been told about so far are:
- Mobile theme loading (as shown in the above screencap) in desktop Safari and Chrome browsers
- Unable to turn mobile theme off in Mobile Safari (so that full / normal theme loads)
Yesterday I was able to recreate the first problem on my desktop in Safari, until I forced a clearout on the site ‘s cacheing plugin. The cache clearing seemed to resolve the issue, but it has re-occurred for some readers this morning, although I can ‘t reproduce it in Chrome or Safari today.
I can however easily reproduce the Mobile Safari ‘can ‘t turn off mobile theme ‘ issue. I ‘m trying to get some help on this one from the publishers of our site ‘s mobile theme plugin “ and I hope we ‘ll narrow down and correct problems fairly soon.
In the meantime, any feedback you can give on what you ‘re seeing would be hugely helpful. Let us know if you are seeing either of the above issues and if so, in which browser. Please try clearing your cache / cookies as well. Also, let me know how much of a pain these issues are for you “ would you like us to just turn off the mobile theme altogether until this is resolved? (so just the full site them is available on the iPhone) Thank you for your help and patience while we try to get this resolved.
UPDATE: The mobile theme plugin ‘s developer suggested a fix for this, so that the mobile theme and our caching plugin ‘play nicely ‘. This immediately resolved the Mobile Safari theme toggle issue for me. I hope it resolves all issues for all of you “ please let us know what you see.
