The d3o is a fairly thin bead in the middle of the case. It’s maybe 2-3 mm thick. I have the first version case and cut out a spot for the lock button. Great case! my phone fell down a full flight of hardwood stairs from off the banister at the top and worsk just fine. Don’t be afraid to buy this as the second version solves all the issues with button cut outs.
