The App Star Awards are back – with App Star Awards 2 coming soon in tandem with the 360iDev developer event, to be held in San Jose in April.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to take part as a judge in a few iPhone app awards last year – all were great to be a part of, but the App Star Awards were my favorite, because they featured apps that wanted to be ‘rising stars’, apps that weren’t even in the App Store yet.
So I’m delighted to be part of the jury that will be judging a new crop of aspiring star apps in the next few weeks. This time around I’m also proud to say that our site is going to join in as one of the media sponsors for App Star Awards 2. Meaning we will help in spotlighting some of the award winners.
Here’s a little more info on the upcoming awards:
We received so many requests, that we could not ignore it. So we decided to organize a new edition of the App Star Awards, our contest to highlight and reward new and brilliant upcoming apps.
The first edition was a real blast and our winners (and even finalists) really enjoyed this contest and the energy it gave them to become real top apps in the App Store. We even enjoyed ourself watching a major cellular operator picking our name for their own contest š
This time organize the App Star Awards 2 in partnership with 360iDev, one of the largest iPhone developer event in the USA, where we’ll announce on stage the results of this great contest (on April 12th in San Jose)
Here’s a key thing to know if you’re a developer and you want to get an app included for consideration:

You will be notified by email when submissions open (march 21st)
The one simple requirement for entry is the same as last time round:
Only one rule, any app is eligible as long as it is not yet submitted to Apple by March 26th (it has to be a new app, and a legit * no jailbreak * app) – rules here
