Fix for Cydia Crashing on iPhone & iPod Touch 3.0

For Windows Users :-

1. Download Clear Cydia List Cache tool (.Net Framework required)

2. Unzip files from above downloaded zip file

3. Run ClearCydiaListCache.exe from above unzipped folder and connect your device

4. Click on button “connect your device and click here” on ClearCydiaListCache.exe

5. Now wait for successful message

For Mac Users :-

1. Connect & ssh to your iPhone and iPod Touch

2. Now go to /private/var/lib/apt/lists

3. Delete all the files in /root/private/var/lib/apt/lists/ except for the partial subfolder.

Do not delete Partial folder

Just stopped the time again – 23 seconds with 3 extra repos.
You have propably a chinese fake iPhone, they are known for such behavior 😉

I’ve been talking to @chpwn about it. I’ve honestly tried everything I can think of and it turns out I have all default sources right now. It’s still 40 seconds as opposed to 7 seconds for Rock.

I’ll try it on my old 2G later, but I doubt there’s something actually wrong with my phone.

I can say that the new update has made Cydia load much faster actually. On the 3GS it loads much faster than it used to of course.

I have four extra repos by the way.

Maybe there's something wrong with the phone, Thomas?
The speed increase is evident, search on twitter for Cydia and you'll see.

Yikes. I wonder what the difference between us is. Is it my one extra repo?it’s not even a seedy one. I got it so that I could get Activator.

And seeing as I don’t want to update one particular app for config issues, I guess I’ll be missing out on this for now.

The only good thing I can say is now that my iPhone is set up to my liking, I rarely have the need to tweak or d/l anything from cydia. The last thing I added was the VolumeButtonExtender yesterday and before that was when Krikae first came out. Using Cydia regularly just isn’t worth the effort.
