For those of you who believe MoneyBook is way too complicated but still want to keep a budget, there’s a nice alternative: SimpleBudget.
SimpleBudget is a budgeting app with one simple, yet powerful idea behind it, and makes keeping track of all your expenses easy.
When you first start SimpleBudget you set a budget amount and an ending date, the software then divides that amount equally for every day until the end date. Let’s suppose I have a budget of 100€ and want to live with it until the 15th of March, it’ll assign 10€ to each day .
Now the app shows a graph indicating how much money is left for that particular day (the blue line) and how much is available to be spent spent (the red triangle). If the blue line goes under the triangle no more money can be spent for the day.
It sounds like a budgeting advice given by a mother to her five-year old kid, and it is. Using this app you don’t plan how much you can spend on magazines the 19th of June if you postpone the payment of your mortage to the 20th and if your mother dies leaving you all her money. Nope, you just live the day not worrying too much about all these details.
I know not everyone can use this app: it won’t fit everyone’s needs, and that’s okay. But for those who don’t want to spend too much time planning and budgeting, I highly recommend this app.
It costs 1.99$/1.59€ and can be downloaded here.
