Tweetie 2 for iPhone Updated – Ready for iPad?

Tweetie 2 update

Tweetie 2 – the hugely popular iPhone Twitter app – has had an update, to Version 2.1.1.

The very first listed change for this version is a very interesting one:

OS 3.2 compatibility

OS 3.2 is what the iPad currently runs.  So presumably this means that this is an iPad compatible version of Tweetie 2.  That would sure be sweet.

The remaining changes are as follows:

  • - Foursquare (4sq.com) integration
  • Vodpod video uploads
  • Post ‘message’ parameter to TwitPic
  • Remove Vid.ly
  • Instapaper Mobilizer

You can find this latest version of Tweetie 2 in the App Store now, priced at $2.99.

    Still no dark theme. Booooooo

I think the "OS 3.2 Compatibility" means just that it is tested for any problems that may arise using the app on the iPad in the resized compatibility mode – not that it is designed for the iPad or anything.

You're probably right, but I'm going to hold out hope that it might mean it contains packages (or whatever the correct dev / tech term is) for both.

Though I haven't paid the $99 to check out the iPad SDK, Apple has confirmed that there will be a separate section for iPad-designed apps, so most likely, there will not be universal bundles for both iPhone & iPad binaries.
