I can’t wait to get my hands on Sword and Sworcery for iPhone

No, the spelling of Sworcery is not a typo.

One of the best bits of news coming out of the Game Developers Conference ’10 has to be the Vimeo-hosted trailer for Sword and Sorcery: a pixelized adventure title that’s scheduled to hit iPhones in the second half of this year. If you keep the iPhone in landscape mode the game plays like many classic adventures games, where you tap on different areas to move there. However, whenever you enter combat you have to tilt the iPhone to the default vertical orientation, where the perspective and controls change completely.

It looks like one of the most impressive, stylish, and immersive titles I’ve ever seen on the iPhone, and I can’t believe the quality of the pixelated animation. Even if you’re not a fan of games the video is definitely worth a look, simply because of how cinematic it all feels.
