Com2uS’ latest arcade action side scroller, Caligo Chaser, is now available for $2.99 on the App Store. I wrote a quick preview of the app a little while ago and even though the game isn’t quite my style, it’s definitely an enjoyable hack and slash experience. The main narrative progresses through a series of quests, which are really just veiled excuses to get you to go out and kill monsters — lots and lots of monsters. The experience should stay relatively fresh thanks to the 27 different skills, upgradable stat points, and a full inventory system that changes your character’s appearance based on the gear you carry.

So if the recently released Final Fantasy sounded interesting, but a little too long-winded and slow between the hacking and slashing, might I point you in the direction of Co2uS’ latest title. You’ll even earn a free level up if you can use the word “caligo” correctly in a sentence (not true).
