Sports fans are awakening from hibernation, and so we sent a little e-mail around to all the members of the JAiB team asking what apps people were using to follow their favourite sports. Hit the jump to see the results, and feel free to leave your own favourite sport-related apps in the comments!

I would say Sportacular is my go to sports app for everything right now. The push notifications work great to keep me informed with latest game coverage. I wish there was support for boxing. I am a huge boxing fan and I still can’t believe there is not one sports app that covers boxing. I am hopeful that one day: ESPN, Sportacular, or Sportstap will feature boxing coverage. I can’t be the only boxing fan left, right?

Good call on lack of a good boxing app. I’d love to see Boxing News do one (if they even still exist).
Mine are:
For keeping up with scores generally (on US sports): SportsTap and Sportacular – both free and both very good.
For watching and keeping up with baseball: MLB At Bat 2010 – $14.99. One of the very favorite iPhone apps (not just amongst sports apps).
For following the upcoming World Cup: ESPN 2010 World Cup – free – review HERE. Very good app from a surprising source.
Sports Games:
World Cup Trivia Challenge – $1.99 – my review HERE. If you’re a fan of the World Cup, and know a bit about it, you wont like this game. You’ll love it.
Homerun Battle 3D – $4.99 – review HERE. Home Run Derby on the iPhone. ‘Nuff said.
3-point Skills Challenge – $0.99 – review HERE. Just like the competition at NBA All Star Weekend. Get your Reggie Miller on.

Sky Sport live football — An essential app if you’re a European football fan. Keep track of all your favourite teams, all the latest scores from all English and local European leagues, with live commentary, news, logs and even preview videos

Mine is called Safari + Google. Gives me game times, scores, you name it… It does it and best of all it’s free!

MLB At Bat: This isn’t just the best sports app out there. It’s one of the best apps out there, period. MLB has done an amazing job with this product. The interface is clean and easy to navigate. The functionality is everything you could hope for. And the number of features it has is just staggering.
NBA Game Time Lite: I never purchased the full version because the app isn’t as polished as I would like. The main gripe I have is its horizontal orientation. With the exception of games that require it, I never hold my iPhone in that position. Regardless, the Lite version of this app does what I most want it to do – give me quick access to NBA box scores and standings.
