Steve Jobs Supports Organ Donation Legeslation

Apple CEO made a surprise appearance a the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, California alongside Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to advocate organ donation legislation.

Of course Jobs spent the first half of last year away from Apple, where he was recovering from a liver transplant.
San Jose Mercury News:

“There were not enough livers in California to go around. I was advised by my Stanford doctors to enroll on a list at a Memphis hospital, because it was more favorable to get a liver there. I was fortunate.”

Mr. Jobs returned to Apple full-time in late June of 2009 and has been seemingly doing very well since.

This legislation has the potential to save more lives by making it easier for citizens to confirm their organ donor status in California. Jobs called the current process “obscure”.
