Analyst Believes Apple Will Introduce Internet-Connected TV

The Loop is reporting on a recent research by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster who is predicting that Apple will launch a internet-connected television within 2-4 years.

“As connected TVs proliferate the integration of hardware, software and content will become a key selling point for TVs,” wrote Munster. “We believe Apple is uniquely positioned to combine these elements at competitive prices ($2,000) for an Apple-branded TV.”

As previously reported, Munster believes Apple has been working on a television subscription service, a plan which is aimed at replacing consumer cable subscriptions. This has been reportedly put off due to recent efforts by Apple to round up content publishers for the iPad iBookstore.

It’s also worth noting that Munster has been claiming this for a while now.
