How to: Make Sure App Store & YouTube Links Work

Posted on 25 Mar 2010 by Thomas

If you’re jailbroken and have attempted to hide some of your fugitive apps, you may have stumbled upon some strange problems with launching a couple of them — YouTube and the App Store, in particular. Hiding these two apps with tweaks and mods like Categories or SBSettings can effectively break the ability to link to them, and so you may not be able to launch App Store or YouTube links from the web until you put them back on the home screen.

So just be careful when you tidy up your device using the various jailbreak tweaks out there: some things are meant to be left on the Springboard.

  1. A.N. says:

    I did make this mistake
but then i unhid the apps
and YouTube and AppStore work fine
    however iTunes does not.

Is there a way to restore iTunes alone?

    I am running a
    iPhone 3GS
    Firmware 3.1.2 (7D11)
    jailbroken via jailbreakme

    Thank you.
