Apple Preparing to Launch 'Explicit' App Store Section

MacStories.net is reporting that Apple has set up two new, albeit currently barren “Top Explicit Paid Software” and “Top Explicit iPad Software“[iTunes links].

Needless to say, this is moving Apple back in the opposite direction they are currently headed. That is to say, Apple’s recent “purge” of sexual themed apps seems to have been a waste of time if Apple is also creating a section of the store specifically for such apps.

For that reason, I doubt Apple officially launches this section of the store. Apple’s reason for removing to apps in the first place was likely to prevent them from damaging the Apple brand. Reinstating these apps in a new section would undercut their recent effort.
