Quick Tip: Reading by the light of the iPhone

My Earth Hour was spent with family sipping some whiskey and looking out at the (mostly) unlit Toronto skyline. However, I also wanted to finish the Wired article I had started before the lights were turned off, and the candles we lit just weren’t bright enough to read by. So I decided to bend the rules a bit and use my iPhone on max brightness as a reading lamp, making sure to hold it perpendicular to the page. I also set auto lock to off so that I wouldn’t have to bother with re-awakening the device after reading a page (I’m a slow reader!).

I think the arrangement worked out quite nicely, serving to illuminate the pages of my Wired magazine without any irritating glare. I think it made an interesting photo, too.
