In reply to trenton. Sorry, but wrong according to who? All the Verizon talk is rumor and speculation at this point - the WSJ has a source that says Yes, Apple Insider quotes an analyst who says no. Until Apple says something, not sure you can tell anything about who's right or wrong.

In reply to muck. I agree on there being a number of rivals that beat the iPhone on a pure features list, but wouldn't say there are many that have it beat for capabilities. At least not in the sense of what users can and do accomplish with it.

Verizon = wrong. It's an upgraded model for China Unicom who uses a different kind of CDMA

Oh hey, remember all those rumors yesterday about a new iPhone coming out for Verizon that had everyone all excited? Well, analysts, wet blankets that they are, had to go and ruin the fun. Maynard J. Um, an analyst who is only indecisive in name, was quick to deem a Verizon launch "unlikely" for this year, with CDMA iPhones possibly going to China Telecom or Japan's KDDI. Um, whatever. I'm fine with $T in Sacramento, too. A $VZ iPhone doesn't interest me that much.

My two-year contract expires this year, so I will get the new iPhone version for $T. I'm anxious to see what the upgraded features are. I'd love the 1g chip and a better camera. 4G would be nice, but that's probably a topic for the next upgrade in 2 years!

Although, the Sprint HTC Evo looks pretty sweet. And as always, the non-iPhones are light-years ahead in features and capability. Yet, Apple is the innovative one, eh? At least they mass market their products well…
