Apple Releases iTunes 9.1, Offers Support for iPad

Apple has released iTunes 9.1 in preparation for the iPad launch on Saturday. Just as MacRumors reported yesterday, this update supplies compatibility to iPad, offers syncing for eBooks, and offers increased control over Genius Mixes. Here are the release notes:

iTunes 9.1 comes with several new features and improvements, including:

– Sync with iPad to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more on the go

– Organize and sync books you’ve downloaded from iBooks on iPad or added to your iTunes library

– Rename, rearrange, or remove Genius Mixes

Of course the eBooks will be available from the iBookstore when the iPad launches. This update is around 100MB in size and can be downloaded through Software Update or the iTunes download page.
