iPad in Canada is reporting that they have received information which claims that Canadian Apple retail employees were told that a “black out” period had been scheduled for the weekend of April 24th. That means no time off for Apple retail employees that weekend. This timeframe also coincides with Apple’s scheduled “late April” launch many countries.
We were contacted by a source with close ties to the Apple Store that the weekend of April 24th has been marked as a “black out period” for staff. This means no employees are allowed to book this day off. If that’s the case, then it would make sense that this indeed would be the launch date for the iPad in Canada. Anytime there’s a “black out period” you know it’s for something big.
This same timeframe stands for the 3G equipped iPad’s launch in the States. Other countries with a likely “late April” launch window (for both versions of iPad) in addition to Canada include: France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, Australia, Switzerland, and the UK.
