Is this the logo for the next generation iPhone?

The successor to the iPhone 3GS may just be called the iPhone HD. This rumour doesn’t require a huge leap of faith to believe (especially since we’ve heard the name before), but the text mock-up is so easy to make it could easily be a fake. We received the above image in an e-mail from a source (who would like to remain anonymous) who supposedly got it from someone inside of Apple, who may or may not have been approving it for final design.
If that’s a few too many May and May Nots for you this April 7th, that’s just fine. We’ll probably only have to wait until tomorrow to find out what the next gen iPhone will be called.
iPhone HD does have a nice ring to it, though.

It's so beautiful. Only the most loyal apple fans can see it.
No way in heck is that a final design for the logo. Even if the phone happens to be called iPhone HD, just go tohttp://www.apple.com/iphone/. Compare the logos. Look at the thickness of the box around the S. Look at the thickness of the S itself. Look at the vertical alignment of the box. I'd be willing to bet this is not at all an official logo, "prototype" or not.
I doubt it, because then all the apps that are 'HD' would be confusing.
It could be an iPhone that uses some of the ipads HD funcanility and other features in it's os.
