The Associated Press is reporting that Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg has approached, and stated to Apple that they would like to carry the iPhone.
Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg says the company has told Apple that it wants to carry the iPhone. But he declined to say when — or even if — the popular smart phone will be available for Verizon Wireless customers.
Verizon has claimed in the past that they can handle increased traffic if the iPhone would come to their network. Last October Seidenberg claimed that the iPhone coming to Verizon was “in Apple’s court.” Then, last month, the Wall Street Journal reported that Apple is working on a Verizon-compatible iPhone model.
I doubt Apple opens the iPhone to Verizon, but we’ll see.
