Steve Jobs Explains Why the New 13" MacBook Pro Still Utilizes C2D Processors

MacRumors is reporting, that shortly after Apple released the MacBook Pro updates yesterday an unnamed party emailed Apple CEO Steve Jobs inquiring as to why the 15″ and 17″ utilize Intel’s new Core i5 and Core i7 processors, yet the new 13″ models still use Intel’s older Core 2 Duo processors.
Steve Jobs response:

We chose killer graphics plus 10 hour battery life over a very small CPU speed increase. Users will see far more performance boost from the speedy graphics.

The killer graphics Jobs is referring to is the new custom built for Apple NVIDIA GeForce 320 integrated graphics. The 15″ and 17″ models utilize these integrated graphics as well, however they also have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M GPU for graphics intensive applications.

In short, Apple chose to give customers better battery life and better graphics instead of a marginal CPU speed increase.
