Apple has announced that iPad sales have been so strong in the U.S. that they have delayed the international delivery for a month.
Although we have delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week, demand is far higher than we predicted and will likely continue to exceed our supply over the next several weeks as more people see and touch an iPad. We have also taken a large number of pre-orders for iPad 3G models for delivery by the end of April.
Delivery on an international scale, will begin at the end of May, and pre-orders will begin on May 10. No word on wether this affects the upcoming launch of the 3G iPad model here in the States.
Also notice that there was no quote from Apple CEO Steve Jobs in this press release. Oops.
