Ego, the great little statistics tracker on my iPhone, is one of those apps that I tend not to worry about, since it just works so well. So any time that the developer issues an update, it tends to come as a very pleasant surprise in an “oh, I thought this was already perfect” sort of way.
A lot of the visible new changes are simple ease-of-use changes (I didn’t really notice the new settings, to be honest), but the new loading system has been beautifully implemented. Upon loading the app, all of your various accounts will appear translucent, but one by one, they’ll bloom into full colour and opacity as they load up. It’s a very subtle, gorgeous effect.
I’d also show a screenshot of the Tumblr widget in action, but I don’t know to embarrass myself by showing my “1” follower.
