According to Gizmodo, it’s very unlikely that the phone you see above is a fake. In fact, it’s likely the same phone that Engadget was showing in their blurry sleuth shots. It’s probably still a prototype model, but something that should be very much like what we’ll see this summer (probably June).
This particular phone was (likely) remote-wiped before Giz could use it, but it does show up as an iPhone in iTunes, and its insides are packed with real electronics guts. The strange thing is that Gizmodo keeps calling the back plastic, when John Gruber seems sure that the next back is made of a new kind of ceramic.
You should really check the post out for yourself (before it gets pulled by Apple?), but some highlights are:
- higher resolution screen – 960×640
- front facing camera, larger back camera with a flash (type unknown)
- smaller screen, separate volume buttons, and a totally flat back (woohoo!)
