No Vacations for AT&T Employees This June, Likely iPhone Launch Date

Boy Genius Report is claiming that AT&T has begun blocking employee vacations for the month of June, which of course suggests an iPhone launch sometime that month. We can reasonably come to this conclusion, but AT&T has placed similar restrictions on employee vacations in the past, and previous iPhone models were introduced during those vacation blocks.

Same story as last year and the year before, but we’ve confirmed with multiple AT&T sources that the carrier has now put a block on employees taking vacations in June. The only time AT&T does a straight block like this is for iPhone launches.

Besides, Apple has traditionally introduced new iPhone models in the summer, namely June and early July. Additionally, Apple has introduced new iPhone models at their annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC), and the new hardware went on sale in the U.S. shortly thereafter. That said, there is evidence suggesting that this year’s WWDC will be held in late June.

As it stands now with current information, expect a new iPhone introduced around the week of June 27th-July 2nd, and for the new model to go on sale a few weeks after.
