Wow, the folks over at FreeAppADay.com have worked their magic on a pretty awesome little iPhone action title. The normally $2.99 Heavy Gunner 3D is downloadable for free, today only. I enjoyed the absolute crap out of this game, and it should provide at least a few hours of entertainment if you’re okay with the analog stick + accelerometer control scheme I described in my review. The game puts up a decent performance on first-gen iPhones when set to “performance” mode in-game, but you’ll probably want a 3GS to enjoy the most streamlined experience.
