Wired.com posted an article yesterday highlighting that the iPad is already accounting for fully 26% of the mobile traffic to the site – a pretty stunning number for a device that has been out for less than three weeks.
The thing that leaps off the page even more for me though is the dominance of the iPhone platform as a whole. For all the four months shown, the iPhone devices swamp the totals of all other mobile devices combined. In April, it looks like ‘everyone else’ accounts for less than 10% of mobile traffic.
Admittedly this is just the stats from a single web site – but it is one of the best-known, most high-profile sites that cover technology, something dear to the hearts of many Android, Windows Mobile, and Palm users, for example, I would think.
