Here’s a feature that makes a lot of sense, and helps keep the iPhone screen clear of unnecessary buttons: tilting the device into landscape mode to create a new task. I’m not sure if the Today Todo Pro developers meant for this, but it actually reminds me of using a device with a slide-out keyboard, which always requires you to tilt the device sideways to begin text entry.
Today Todo Pro users learn very quickly that portrait mode is for managing and ticking off tasks, and landscape is for assigning new ones. Once you’ve written a task out, you can tap Save and create another one, or simply return the device to portrait to oversee all the stuff you haven’t done.
I think developer Spielhaus has made great use of the accelerometer, and it’s refreshing to see a landscape display that isn’t just a wider version of the one you see when the iPhone is right side up.
