Do not use Thunderst0rm or TurboSn0w2 to jailbreak your iPhone

If you’re looking to get into the jailbreaking scene, don’t use Thunderst0rm or TurboSn0w2  to do so. The warning comes directly from BigBoss, one of the pillars of the jailbreak community:

Thunderst0rm is ‘supposed ‘ to be an untethered jailbreak for 3.1.3. It was released today and is available for download. Thunderst0rm is fake. Do not download or run it. We aren ‘t sure what all it does, but it does not jailbreak your device. Furthermore, it may install some spyware or something. It should be avoided. Rumors say it deletes several files from iTunes meaning you would possibly have to reinstall iTunes after running it.

Another one called TurboSn0w2 is also fake.

I haven’t actually had to jailbreak in quite a while, but when I did, I used GeoHot’s Blackra1n to do so. The iPhone Dev Team also regularly produces hacks for jailbreaking various firmwares and devices, so you’ll want to keep an eye out on their site as well.
