Wi-Fi Sync App for iPhone – Coming Soon or Soon to Be Rejected

 

Developer Greg Hughes has produced an app that does something I’ve had on my iPhone wish list forever – wireless sync with iTunes.  It’s called Wi-Fi Sync, and that’s what it does. The demo in the video above shows it in action – it appears to work well and in a way similar to the way many individual apps handle WiFi sync.

It shouldn’t be shocking that someone has made WiFi sync work – heck the Zune has been doing it for over three years.  The big question, of course, is whether this app stands any chance of getting approved by Apple.  Seems a big longshot. Hughes has said that if it is rejected, he’ll publish details of exactly how it works, to prove it abides by ‘the rules’. 

Here’s hoping we see this app available soon one way or the other – whether it’s on the App Store or Cydia.  I’ll be testing a beta of it out over the next few days and will share thoughts on that as soon as I’ve had a chance to give it a go.
