Google updates image searching page for iPhones

Posted on 28 Apr 2010 by Thomas

Wow. The folks at Google Mobile have done a kickass job of revamping the mobile image search results page on the iPhone (and Android). All pictures are now forced into square thumbnails for a neater overall appearance, and tapping on one will load up a new custom image viewer. This viewer allows you more screen space for pics, improves the swipe-to-switch gesture for switching photos, and simply does a great job of making an iPhone optimized site feel more like an app.

It still seems just a bit buggy right now (sometimes I’ll see the old image search layout), but the feature only rolled out very recently, so it should get fixed up soon.
