SoundHound “Lite” released for iPhone

Big Ol’ Disclaimer: I did a bit of work (promo videos) for SoundHound earlier this year, but this news post isn’t endorsed or sponsored by SoundHound in any way.

SoundHound is pretty amazing for quickly identifying music, providing lyrics, and finding new, similar songs. However, until recently, there hasn’t been any free demo version of the app to attract new initiates (which, I think, Shazam has capitalized on). One of our site readers, John, commented on how much of a difference trial/demo/lite versions made to him and the probability of his eventual purchase, so, hopefully, this demo can help people see why they should invest in the full version of SoundHound.

The lite version of the app comes with five ID’s per month, which is actually surprisingly little considering the ad support, but you can always purchase more ID credits through the app, or simply upgrade to the full, unlimited version (on sale for $5.00).

By the way: if the $5 is still too much for you to pay, you might want to check out a similar app, MusicID, which is currently on sale for $0.99 (watch for a dedicated post on this soon).
