I'm no big Android user, but I looked into ROMs for it (in the same way I looked up Windows Mobile ROMs to get the most out of my device) and found a sort of cease-and-desist letter from Google to Android hackers:http://www.h-online.com/open/news/item/Google-wan

I know that post is from a while back, but I saw a similar post recently on a ROM kitchen site. So while the iPhone may be able to legally run Android, I'm not even sure they can get Gmail onto it…or even the bloody Marketplace app. What use will ti be then if 3rd party devs have to re-invent the wheel with basic apps? 🙁
