NetAirus Filing Lawsuit Against Apple

The Loop is reporting that Apple is being sued by a company called NetAirus Technologies. The story itself wouldn’t be post worthy if it wasn’t for what NetAirus is suing over: the iPhone. Not part of it. Not the radios, not the screen. No, they are suing over the concept of the iPhone.

Filed in the Central District of California Western Division, NetAirus claims that Apple’s iPhone infringes ‘380 patent. The patent issued on September 5, 2006 and held by NetAirus describes a “Wireless Handset Communication System.”

The lawsuit is aimed at all three past and present iPhone models. They are seeking cash damages, and a halt to iPhone production.

NetAirus, appears to be a patent troll company. They have filed similar patent suits against companies such as Samsung and Panasonic.

I expect we won’t hear much more of this story.
