Just 2 percent of all iPhone OS handsets still in use are Apple’s first-generation iPhone, but a new calculation estimates that amounts to nearly 30 percent of the 6.1 million iPhones sold between June 2007 and July 2008.
That’s a little slice from a report over at Apple Insider last week, which highlights that a recent estimate shows a healthy percentage of original iPhones are still in use and are still visiting the web.
I’ve got one of those V1 iPhones that is still going strong and still getting on the web. It even got jailbroken with Spirit the other day. It’s in quite good shape and has never had any major hardware issues. Not bad for a refurb model from 2007.
