Rogers increases pricing on caller and name display
Rogers is trying even harder to get customers to hate them. They recently announced that the old $8 call and name display we all knew and hated has been turned into two separate services: caller display and name display.
Caller display ($8) shows only callers’ telephone numbers, but paying an extra $2 for name display will give you access to what the original caller display gave you . Basically, you’ll now have to pay $10 to get what $8 used to get you — unless you’re already on a plan or value pack. That’s one step forward (free tethering for 1GB+ data plans) and two steps back (caller and name display), Rogers. I don’t think we should have to pay at all for name display, and $8 was already a ridiculous fee.
Not cool.

this is part of the reason why i'm on pay as you go. for $20 a month i get call display (just the number), voicemail, and unlimited texting with 1 cent evenings and weekends. i switched to a montly plan for about two weeks but quickly realized it was more expensive for fewer features.
Yeah, I'm trying my damndest to stay away from more plan extensions and will work towards just getting a good retention plan, if I stay on Rogers at all…
