SimplyTweet for iPhone Price Reduced – Now $2.99

SimplyTweet – one of the most popular Twitter apps for the iPhone – has had a price reduction; from $4.99 to 2.99.

SimplyTweet is easily one of the most full-featured and frequently updated iPhone Twitter apps.  It was already considered very good value at $4.99; so at $2.99 it is a heck of a bargain.

I haven’t seen any indication so far of how long this price reduction will last for, but if you’re after a good Twitter app at a great price you might want to act quickly anyway.  You can find the latest version of SimplyTweet in the App Store HERE.

    I am sure it does more, and I know I am being short-sited, but I personally have a policy that I do not pay for 3rd party apps that are only a conduit to a free fully functional website.

    What am I missing out, by relying on my free EchoFon?

      Missing = probably nothing I'd guess. I think Twitter is used in a myriad of different ways by different people – and consequently our favorite Twitter clients can vary a whole bunch as well. Some like their clients very basic and simple, as the web app is. Others like lots of extra features and capabilities that the web app doesn't offer, and there are a number of very powerful apps that deliver these. I've never used EchoFon but I enjoy things like support for threaded conversations and the elegant UIs in apps like Tweetie and Twitterrific.

      This may be a moot point quite soon anyway – as Twitter recently bought Tweetie, and they will soon be bringing an official Twitter app out with Loren from Tweetie leading its development, and that will be free.
