Pastebot – the superb clipboard manager app for the iPhone – has been updated, to Version 1.2. It has added the biggest item on my features wish list for it – support for syncing multiple devices with its desktop companion app.
I use Pastebot a ton on both my iPhone and my iPad. Prior to this update, it was a nuisance having to continually swap back and forth between the iPad and the iPhone when syncing photos and text from them to my Mac desktop – as it only allowed one device at a time to sync.
I’ve tested out the update tonight and it works a treat. No more need for the awkward process of switching between the two devices as sync partners each time.
You do need to update the desktop companion applet as well to make this work. I found that despite having the desktop preferences applet set to automatically check for updates, it did not tell me about the new one tonight. I just went to the Pastebot site and grabbed the download for Version 1.2 there. That site is here: http://tapbots.com/software/pastebot/#sync
I really love Pastebot – and use it as much day in, day out as any app on the iPhone and iPad. This update is very, very good to see, and will save me lots of time now that both devices are set to sync with my Mac and ‘just work’.
You can find this latest version of Pastebot in the App Store now, priced at $2.99.
