Facebook to be More Heavily Integrated into iPhone OS?

Silicon Alley Insider is reporting on information from a “plugged-in” source, is claiming that Apple is building Facebook integration into iPhone OS, which could be seen as early as next month’s World Wide Developers Conference.

Our source tells us that Apple is at least going to build Facebook contact syncing directly into the iPhone software, so you can pull Facebook contacts into your iPhone’s phonebook. This is a no-brainer, and is already a feature that some of Apple’s competition offers, so it makes sense to include on the iPhone.

The most likely candidates are integration with Facebook services such as Facebook photos, Facebook Connect, and Facebook messaging. This wouldn’t be a shock considering that Apple already has limited Facebook integration in iPhoto ’09 and iTunes 9.
