Tapping on that small “globe” symbol to switch between your activated international keyboards is fun and all, but having a pop-up menu in 4.0 is even better.

I’m not sure if this is beta 4 specific, but I certainly haven’t heard of it before accidentally activating it yesterday. All you need to do is tap and hold to bring it up. I would really only ever use two different keyboards (English/German), but I’ve also confirmed support for at least six keyboards in this pop-up menu. If you need more keyboards than that, then you do way too much typing on the iPhone.

The second bit of news comes from Gizmodo. The iPhone finally has a custom, user-editable dictionary. You’ll find it right in the Keyboard settings, but you have to reset your Dictionary settings first (Settings -> General -> Reset). The first world I’ll be adding is one that rhymes with duck.
