uBreakiFix, an iPhone repair site, clams that they have received next-gen iPhone face panels in both traditional black, and now white. This face plate seems exactly similar to the one posted on a Chinese website last week.
No one seems to know what exactly that grilling is at the top of these panels. Some have speculated that it is the proximity sensor. That could very well be the case, but current iPhone’s house the proximity sensor under the screen, hidden from the user. Also, when Gizmodo torn into their stolen iPhone prototype this grilling was not there. But then, in February parts surfaced with a similar grilling.
The short answer: Who knows, but I will remain skeptical until the white model is shown on stage at WWDC.
